Things in Your Wardrobe to Get Rid Of

By Laura Leiva
Spring is a lot more than warmer, long days and beautiful blooming flowers. When we think of this season, we think of the perfect time for some spring cleaning. It’s so satisfying when you get to clean out your closet, get rid of those things you’ve been meaning to throw away for so long, and feel the weight of that useless clutter drift away. But, how do you let go of those things that no longer serve you?

We’ve listed off the most expendable things in your closet you should get rid of now and get a jump start on the spring cleaning season!
  • Anything you haven’t worn in the past year: We know it feels like there’s a perfect event just around the corner where you’ll get to wear that thing you haven’t worn in forever, but it’s time. Take a hard look at anything (clothes, shoes, hats) you didn’t even wear once in the last year and consider throwing away or donating it.
  • Damaged items: This goes for those bras with bent hooks or underwire you should upgrade, or any underwear that’s too worn out. As a general rule of thumb, you should throw away things you consider off trend and give yourself the opportunity to upgrade to better things.
  • Shoes that hurt: Walking in painful shoes can ruin a perfectly fun night. Whether they’re too small and will never fit, or have a T-strap that no matter what you do gives you blisters, one of the things you can do when you clear out your closet is get rid of those shoes that hurt when you wear them and start living a happier life.
