Dorm Friendly Décor Hacks for the Cutest Pad on Campus

By Kelsey Hokit

Decorating a new space can be an exciting time, but when it comes to a dorm, space can be quite limited. However, there are still plenty of ways that you can make your new dorm look as chic as possible and make your space the envy of everyone on campus!

1) Removable Adhesive Curtain Rod

Adding curtains to a room can immediately elevate the look and allow you to add your own personal style. It will instantly feel less sterile and more like home. However, you may not have the ability to drill curtain rods into the wall. Instead, utilize adhesive hooks to hang a curtain rod on the wall and then you will have the option to add your own curtains!

2) Create a Headboard

The headboard in your dorm room may be anything but stylish, but you can easily upgrade it on your own. Simply cut a piece of cardboard into the shape that you need and cover it in the fabric of your choosing to create your own custom headboard that is easy to toss at the end of the school year.

3) Get a Long Bed Skirt

A long bed skirt will not only help to make your dorm room look a little neater, but it will also give you the opportunity to store as much as you can under the bed without having to look at the mess. You may need to measure the length that you need, but it will help keep your room looking tidy, while also being able to maximize the use of your small space.

4) Incorporate a Throw Rug

A throw rug is going to be your best friend when it comes to decorating your dorm room. However, not only can you toss a throw on the floor to warm up the space, but you can also use a small throw rug as beautiful textured wall décor.

These easy tips will help you create a space you will love throughout the school year, while making decorating a breeze!
